It has been 2 years since this trip (September 2017) and I am finally getting around to organizing these photos! This is, by far, the biggest trip my family has ever been on -- a week-long Mediterranean cruise + an additional week spent in Rome after the cruise. This was the first time my parents had visited Europe and the second time for my siblings and I. We were joined with my mom's sisters and their husbands and some family friends. This trip was essentially a gift from my aunt, my mom's second oldest sister and my godmother, who passed away in 2016. She absolutely loved to travel and she still inspires me to this day with her love for travel.
The cruise ship we went on was called the Norwegian Epic. I'd have to say that after this trip, I'm not the biggest fan of cruises, as I prefer to take a leisurely approach to travel. Having such busy and tight schedules isn't my thing. However, I enjoyed the places we visited and just made me want to go back to each of the places and explore some more. My family opted to do our own excursions at each of the places the cruise docked at.
Here were all the places we visited:
Day 1: Livorno, Tuscany, Italy - Cinque Terre + Pisa
Day 2: Cannes, France
Day 3: Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Day 4: Barcelona, Spain
Day 5: Naples, Italy - Positano, Amalfi Coast + Pompeii
The only times we hired a driver for our excursions was when we were visiting the Cinque Terre, Pisa, Positano, the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. Otherwise, we just did the Hop On, Hop Off tours for the other cities, or rented bikes, or walked and wandered around. There was sooooo much to see and do! I'd love to go back and spend more time in Tuscany, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Naples! Stay tuned for my blog post on the rest of our trip, featuring our stay in Rome, a day trip to Ponza Island, and taking the train down to Florence and Venice.
All photos photographed with my phone (Oneplus 3) and edited in Lightroom CC.
