Jerry Sulina Park Portrait Session

Updated: Mar 31, 2019

An old co-worker of mine reached out to me with the vision for a portrait session that was outside my comfort zone. She showed me some inspiration photos of a grungy and moody type of photo style and I was totally on board to capture something I was not used to photographing. She wanted me to photograph her epic hairstyle that she had done up in braided corn rows and was going to take them out soon. So we were in a bit of a time crunch. We were all set to go, chose a location and then last minute the weather changed to freezing rain and wind. There wasn't any other day or time that was going to work for us, so we went ahead with the shoot. Man....this lady was a trooper. Dressed in a Lara Croft style of outfit with an epic machete as a prop, she posed like a champ while withstanding the horrendous minus degree weather of freezing rain and wind. Thank goodness for the weather resistant feature of my Fujifilm XT1 camera + Fujinon 16mm f1.4 lens or else I would've destroyed my camera setup. Thank you, Leanne, for being incredible! I loved what we created together.
